From the Garden

The cleaner we eat the better we feel. I used to offer a wellness class called "Healing With Whole Foods". The teacher, Tanya Capaldo, would use this statement: "Eat foods closest to the earth." So I'm pretty sure that leaves out Twinkies and Cheetos.

I know from personal experience that food directly impacts our physical, mental and emotional well-being. Even foods that are considered natural and organic can create unhealthy or uncomfortable symptoms.

I had a client many years ago who everyone thought was anorexic. She was very thin, jittery and anxious all the time. She always had to use the ladies room after she ate, so all of her co-workers assumed she was in there to purge her food. I kept encouraging her to do an exercise of keeping a food journal and also to do something called an elimination diet.

Long story short, she was finally diagnosed with Celiac disease. She changed her diet and began to feel better. She gained weight, did not have intestinal issues and her anxiety decreased.  She didn't need therapy. She needed to understand what was the underlying cause of her symptoms.

And, healthy eating doesn't have to be boring or difficult and tasteless. Enjoy these beautiful pictures...
